The Carriage or the Car?

Well, for ages now I've thought to myself 'what would it be like if we dumped the car and reclaimed the carriage?' and now that I have a blog, I thought it only right to kick-start my blogging with this question. To be honest, I'm one of those teenagers who are quite literally from another era! I'm a BIG Austen fan, I LOVE the idea of having a ball every fortnight and riding in a carriage on the way home. I'm just a Regency Babe! Anyway, more to the point our planet is suffering and has done for many a year - the theory is that the planet is a living thing (which it is) and the planet can only take as many blows before it can't repair itself. Significantly, few people believe that the planet has taken one too many blows and that it's too late for us human beings to save the planet. I believe this to a certain extent, I mean come on; WE are the human race! We survived the Ice Age for God's sake and what's more, WE created the technology to enable Neil Armstrong and his fellow astronauts to fly 238,857 miles to the MOON! We are victorious creations! However, I believe we should start now - let's bring back the horse and carriage! Not only will it reduce carbon emissions but also will also enlighten our ways of seeing the world. One time I was travelling up in the car with my family on our way to Keswick, and there were signs EVERYWHERE for deer and wild horse's and yet, throughout the whole journey there was not ONE in sight! I don't consider this to be a common matter (because you'd have to be lucky to spot one) but IF I had been riding in a carriage then there might have been a possibility that I could have seen one. I think human's should embrace nature and wildlife while it's still here. Car's are very dangerous and disturbing piece's of technology and no doubt kill quite a percentage of wildlife...Carriage's however, I can see being a much more 'life-friendly' form of transport.

I don't mean to be biased but I say CARRIAGE: FOR THE WIN.
